Blessings from Tagore, 1931

Jayasree made its appearance in print in May 1931, established and edited by Leelabati Nag, a firebrand revolutionary leader in India’s struggle for freedom and the leading light of the women’s liberation movement in Bengal. Rabindranath Tagore named the magazine and Nandalal Bose painted the cover page of the magazine’s first issue.read more
